HELTON CREEK FALLS
Helton Creek Falls cascades in a set of two waterfalls, sliding down in tendrils through a beautiful, Hemlock Filled Creek Valley. The trail to these gorgeous waterfalls isn’t a long hike. The trails extremely short distance qualifies it as more of a short walk in the woods. The double waterfalls beauty makes it a fantastic, easy day hike for visitors to Helen or nearby Vogel State Park – and a makes it a great hike for families with kids.
DESOTO FALLS
The DeSoto Falls of Georgia are located in Lumpkin County, Georgia along Frogtown Creek. There are actually three waterfalls on Frogtown Creek, called Upper DeSoto Falls, Middle Desoto Falls and Lower DeSoto Falls.
VOGEL STATE PARK
One of Georgia's most popular state parks. Vogel State Park is located 11 miles south of Blairsville via U.S. Hwy 19-129. Driving from the south, visitors pass through Neel Gap. The 233 acre facility features hiking and backpacking, fishing, swimming, pedal boat rental, and miniature golf.
MEEKS PARK
Meeks Park is one of the most beautiful parks in the North Georgia Mountains. It is located about one mile west of Blairsville, Georgia on Highway 515. The park is home to seven ball fields, batting cages, a playground, a skateboard park, basketball court, tennis courts, swimming pool, walking trails, nature trails, a dog park, a disc golf course, several pavilions, and other amenities.
